Easy Snowman Activity For Toddlers

December 7, 2022

This snowman activity is essentially the same as the Feed The Turkey activity I posted last month for Thanksgiving; it’s just wintery instead!

And one of the great things about this is that you can have it out all winter, not just for Christmas!

How to Make your Snowman Activity

To make this, I actually reused the same bottle as the turkey; I just popped everything off and gave the bottle a good scrub. Easy peasy.

If you didn’t see that post, I used the glass bottle from a Starbucks bottled coffee. They are my favorite bottles to use for things like this.

Other items used are:

  • Red and orange felt
  • Black permanent marker
  • Cotton Balls

I understand that giving a toddler a glass bottle can seem like a bad idea…. However, I actually love to use glass for certain things because it teaches early on about different materials and that you must be careful with glass items. I have only had one glass thing break and a lesson was definitely learned from it.

Check out the reel I posted on Instagram for a short video tutorial!

To assemble your snowman, you will cut a scarf and carrot nose out of felt and use hot glue to attach them to the bottle.

Then, use your Sharpie to draw eyes, mouth, and buttons directly on the glass.

And bam, you’re already done!

Playtime

Set your snowman out with a bowl of cotton balls (snowballs) and some little tongs so your kid can fill him up. It’s so cute and easy!

If you have multiple kids, or maybe for a Christmas party, I love the idea of making a snowman for each child and having them race to see who can get 10 (or however many) snowballs into their bottle first (one at a time of course). Maybe that will be one for next year when W is older and can participate.

This guy looks pretty dang cute sitting on a shelf as winter decor when he’s not actively being played with! Enjoy!
